Many people suffer from depression along with anxiety. Depression and anxiety can be byproducts of each other and therefore, it is important that you treat both. Depression is when your mind enters the state of gloom, where you find the bad in everything and are generally not a happy person. You may experience emotions that you feel you shouldn’t, like crying without a reason. When this happens, it can cause you to have anxiety attacks. When you suffer form an anxiety that is accompanied by depression, you more than likely suffer from anxiety depression disorder.

So how do you know if you are depressed? Some common symptoms of depression are the inability to get motivated each morning, no energy, and no happiness in general. Often, it is not hard to spot depression in someone. It tends to show in their basic attitude and their actions. It is not uncommon for someone who is depressed to try to cover it up by being happy on the outside, while they are still broken on the inside. There are also a few physical signs, but the most common one is excessive sleeping. Are you sleeping a considerable amount more than what your body needs? If you experience these three things, it does not mean that you do have depression, but it means that you could.
So now that you know some of the symptoms of depression, you need to know what causes it. Depression can be caused by a multitude of things. You can suffer from depression because of the death of a friend or family member, changing jobs, having to move, or just by a relationship ending. This is not to say that you will have depression if you experience on of these things happening, but it can cause it.
Because anxiety and depression go hand-in-hand, it is not uncommon for you to have the feelings of anxiety when you are depressed. Because of this, you may feel like after you have an anxiety attack, you are just going to have more and more and there is no way to prevent them. This is not true. You can always seek out treatment and you may find treatment for your anxiety and depression all at one time. There are a number of different resources at your disposal and it is important that you remember that. Always keep in mind that there are other people going through the same thing that you are and that there is always someone who can help you through it.
